Guanshanhu district of Guiyang welcomed 1.07 million tourists during this year's National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, an increase of 26.05 percent over the same period last year, according to statistics from its district bureau of culture, sports, radio, film, television, and tourism on Oct 8. The district's total tourism revenue amounted to more than 800 million yuan ($113.79 million), a year-on-year increase of 35 percent.
It was reported that the district's eco-tourism and rural tourism routes were favored by the majority of tourists. During the National Day holiday, Guanshanhu district hosted a variety of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, including light shows, cultural performances, reading activities, as well as calligraphy and painting exhibitions, attracting numerous tourists.
The LED lights on the outer walls of the district's financial city buildings sparkled at night, showing Guizhou's famous tourist attractions like Huangguoshu Waterfalls in Anshun and Fanjing Mountain in Tongren.
