Luwo town in Xifeng county strengthens river management

Luwo town in Xifeng county, Guiyang, has continued to strengthen river management this year through regular river patrols and targeted conservation measures, improving the local water environment while enhancing safety and the visitor experience.

The town organizes village- and township-level river chiefs, together with volunteers, to carry out routine river inspections, dredging, cleaning, and debris removal to keep waterways clean. To encourage environmentally responsible camping and fishing, 55 new trash bins have also been installed along the river this year, further improving public sanitation facilities.

In addition, Luwo town has conducted 39 inspections to identify potential hazards in local waterways and enhance water safety. It has installed 62 additional warning signs at high-risk locations and carried out more than 100 patrols and public awareness campaigns on water safety and drowning prevention, helping protect residents and visitors.

With cleaner rivers and a healthier environment, Luwo is attracting an increasing number of visitors for sightseeing and outdoor recreation, creating new opportunities for local rural development.
