Xifeng Concentration Camp

Xifeng Concentration Camp was the largest secret prison established by the kuomintang's military intelligence service during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45). Behind its prison walls, imprisoned members of the Communist Party of China secretly organized an underground Party branch, turning the prison into a symbol of unwavering faith and resistance during one of the darkest chapters in Chinese history.

Today, the site has been preserved as both a historical memorial and an educational center that combines authentic prison buildings, historical relics and modern digital exhibitions. Walking through former prison cells and interrogation rooms, visitors can still feel the harsh realities of the prison reflected in the cold iron bars and weathered walls. Immersive exhibitions and archival materials vividly portray the courage, resilience and sacrifice of those who endured imprisonment for their ideals.

Rather than showcasing spectacular scenery, Xifeng Concentration Camp offers something even more profound – a powerful reminder of the value of freedom, conviction and peace. It remains one of Guiyang's most significant destinations for learning about China's revolutionary history.

Opening hours:

8:30 am-4:30 pm (last admission at 4:30 pm)

Closed on the afternoon of the last Monday of each month.

Morning opening hours on that day: 8:30 am–1 pm.
