Children's film program begins shooting at former Xifeng Concentration Camp

The launch ceremony for the summer edition of Season 2 of Light and Shadow Childhood Dreams, a youth film education program produced by Guizhou Radio and Television, was recently held at the Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolutionary History Memorial Hall.

The Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolutionary History Memorial Hall is a national patriotic education demonstration base and a national study tour education base for primary and secondary students.

As one of the largest and highest-level secret prisons established during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45), it once held more than 1,200 China's Communist Party members and patriotic figures.

Over the years, the memorial hall has carried out various educational programs, including red-themed study tours, history lectures, and immersive revolutionary lessons, while exploring new models of collaboration between museums and schools.

For this production, the memorial hall provided filming locations, historical materials, and professional guidance to help the crew recreate authentic historical scenes.

Featuring live-action performances and immersive experiences, Light and Shadow Childhood Dreams invites young actors to visit red heritage sites and portray revolutionary stories. Through hands-on filming, children can better understand history and gain inspiration from the spirit of China's revolutionary pioneers.

The program will be broadcast on the Science & Education Health Channel and the Dongjing News app, with participating children receiving records of their social practice experience.
