Integrated logistics network brings faster deliveries to rural Xifeng

"I used to ride all the way into town just to pick up a package, taking a lot of time and effort. Now, I can collect it just a few steps from my home," said Cai Ting, a resident of Wen'an village in Xishan town, Xifeng county, Guiyang, describing the changes brought by improved rural delivery services.

For years, mountainous terrain made package delivery to village slow, costly and inconvenient. But thanks to the county's integration of passenger transport, freight, and postal services, all 161 villages in Xifeng are now covered by convenience service stations.

Xifeng has established a three-tier network consisting of county-level distribution centers, township logistics hubs, and village service stations. The county has built two county-level shared distribution centers, upgraded four township logistics nodes, and completed standardized construction of 161 village service stations.

The county has also made use of spare capacity on rural bus routes and passenger transport services to operate dedicated logistics lines, enabling the sharing of transportation resources between passenger and parcel delivery services. By April 2026, passenger vehicles had transported more than 100,000 parcels, reducing logistics costs and improving efficiency.

Xifeng opened 11 direct routes linking county-level distribution centers with village service stations, upgrading the previous two-day delivery to daily delivery and delivering over 500,000 parcels to villages each year.

Supported by the improved logistics network, Xifeng has also expanded channels for agricultural products to reach urban markets. Local specialties are now sold across China, creating new opportunities for returning entrepreneurs and helping farmers increase their incomes.
