Xifeng promotes healthcare services

"I was so busy taking care of my newborn that I didn't even get around to learning about the maternity allowance application," said Li Yiqian, a new mother from Shidong village, Shidong town, Xifeng county, Guiyang. "Fortunately, a staff member from the medical insurance bureau called to remind me and patiently guided me through the process, so I was ultimately able to receive the subsidy. I was very touched."

Xifeng county has focused on addressing key issues in medical insurance services and has continuously improved its service model in recent years. To tackle the problem of some new mothers missing maternity allowance deadlines while caring for their babies, the county's medical insurance bureau has established a data screening mechanism. Staff members contact eligible residents whose applications are nearing expiration and work with township authorities to verify information and promote relevant policies, ensuring that all qualified residents receive their benefits. Since the beginning of this year, more than 80 residents have received maternity allowances totaling 2.15 million yuan ($317,061).

In addition, Xifeng county has streamlined procedures for accidental injury reimbursement. Insured residents now just need to sign a declaration form at the hospital to complete the process, without having to travel back and forth to township offices or government service centers for additional stamps and approvals, significantly improving efficiency and convenience for the public.
