Xifeng County Gymnasium to open before Spring Festival

The Xifeng County Gymnasium, with a total investment of 299 million yuan ($43.3 million), is set to open ahead of the Spring Festival on Feb 16. The main structure and most interior works have already been completed.

The project consists of three main components: a comprehensive gymnasium, a national fitness center, and a supporting hotel.

The gymnasium, with a floor area of 33,014 square meters, features an indoor basketball arena with 3,000 seats, as well as outdoor soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and other supporting facilities. It also provides 770 underground parking spaces and 124 ground-level parking spaces.

The fitness center covers 12,369 sq m and includes a standard 50-meter indoor swimming pool, table tennis hall, badminton courts, and a fitness center. The hotel, with a floor area of 22,302 sq m, will provide services for sports events and related activities.

After being put into use, the facility will not only meet residents' daily fitness needs but also host regional sporting events. Basketball teams from the surrounding areas of Xifeng county will be invited to participate in future competitions.
