Xifeng county sees strong development over past 5 years

Xifeng county recorded an average annual GDP growth rate of over 7 percent during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25). Per capita GDP rose from 75,995 yuan ($10,759) in 2020 to 94,843 yuan in 2024, while per capita incomes of urban and rural residents grew by 6.1 percent and 8 percent annually, respectively.

Xifeng has vigorously advanced key industrial sectors, including phosphorus–fluorine chemicals, health pharmaceuticals, battery materials, and textile dyeing and printing. In 2023, the county's industrial enterprises above a designated size achieved an output value exceeding 10 billion yuan, and this figure is expected to reach 15 billion yuan this year. The Xifeng Economic Development Zone was recognized as a national-level green industrial park, with its industrial output consistently accounting for more than 85 percent of the county's total.

The county's agricultural modernization continued to make steady progress. The county maintained over 200,000 mu (13,333 hectares) of grain cultivation area, while its meat poultry, ecological fishery, and premium fruit industries expanded rapidly. The number of agricultural business operators now exceeds 4,300.

Additionally, the county's cultural and tourism sector is growing quickly. The county's four major hot spring resorts receive over 900,000 visitors each year. National events such as the Xiwang Mountain Paragliding Invitational and trail races further boosted Xifeng's visibility. The county was named one of China's Top 100 Counties in Comprehensive Tourism Strength, and is expected to welcome over 8 million visitors and generate more than 8.5 billion yuan in tourism revenue this year.
