Xifeng: Sporting events spark consumer frenzy

Alongside the 5th Xiwang Mountain Paragliding Open held from Sept 20 to 22, a unique local specialty goods expo took place at the main venue in Luwo village, Xishan town, and the branch venue at the railway station square in Xifeng county.

Using sporting events as a platform, the expo comprehensively showcased and recommended local specialty tourism, traditional cuisine, and high-quality agricultural by-products, promoting the deep integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism to drive local economic development.

The event featured a dazzling array of agricultural and tourism products, captivating visitors with fresh fruits and vegetables, delicious snacks, exquisite handicrafts, and more displayed at meticulously arranged booths.

"The combination of the paragliding competition and the local specialty goods expo is another practical exploration of our 'tourism + sports + agriculture' integration development model," said Zhang Zaiqun, Party secretary of the Xifeng county culture, sports, radio, television, and tourism bureau, expressing a desire to enhance Xifeng's visibility and reputation through the event.

Online live streaming promotions were also conducted during the event, offering exhibitors and consumers a new interactive experience. As night fell, the square of the Xifeng Railway Station sparkled with lights, while on the open-air stage, hosts took turns presenting exciting programs, allowing remote audiences to feel the vibrant atmosphere of the expo.

The expo featured over 80 booths, showcasing Xifeng's local agricultural products and various tourism items. The combination of online and onsite promotional strategies yielded positive results, enriching the event and inspiring more athletes and tourists from both within and outside the province to explore and better understand Xifeng.
