Xifeng County Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital recently sent a volunteer team of medical workers to Longteng community to offer free clinical services.
At the free clinic site, medical workers carefully inquired about the health conditions of visiting community members, patiently listened to their descriptions, and provided detailed explanations of basic TCM concepts and characteristics, treatment, and the distinctive advantages of TCM in preventing and treating chronic and complex diseases. They prescribed medication based on the health conditions of the participants and distributed free medicine to them.
"Having experts come to our doorstep to offer free clinical services is a rare opportunity, so I brought my grandmother for a check-up," said Ms. Li, a resident of the county town. "My grandmother is over 80 years old, has cardiovascular disease, and has trouble with her legs. It's inconvenient for her to travel by car, and she usually doesn't want to go to the hospital because it's too much trouble."
One corner of the clinic was particularly lively, with many people showing interest in the TCM treatments on offer. Medical workers provided acupuncture, tuina, and other TCM treatments to community members, allowing them to directly experience the efficacy of TCM.
The event also featured the distribution of educational materials on TCM and TCM health care packs in an effort to raise awareness and interest in TCM and health-related matters.
