The tourism market in Xifeng county, Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, flourished during the May Day holiday, with visitor numbers and revenue seeing significant growth.
It was estimated that Xifeng received 440,100 visits during the holiday period, marking a 10.1-percent increase year-on-year. The county's tourism revenue reached 237 million yuan ($33.30 million), up 11.8 percent from the previous year.
Key tourist attractions in Xifeng capitalized on their cultural and tourism resources, offering a variety of engaging activities that drew large crowds. Among the most popular sites were the Xifeng Concentration Camp Memorial Hall, Nanshan Tianmu Hot Springs, and Xifeng Hot Spring Sanatorium Scenic Spot.

Rural tourism also shone in Xifeng, with sites like the "See You Again, Nanshan" rural inns hosting poolside concerts, outdoor movie screenings, and other engaging events. Attractions such as Shizinao Agricultural Ecological Park attracted numerous visitors, offering leisure activities like barbecuing and fishing.
To ensure a safe and well-organized holiday experience, the Xifeng bureau of culture and tourism, in collaboration with other departments, conducted 134 inspections across 324 hotels, scenic spots, and other venues. The coordinated efforts of local authorities and businesses ensured that the holiday market remained secure, harmonious, and orderly.
