In April, at the potato planting demonstration base in Maluyan village, Qingshan Miao ethnic township, Xifeng county, lush potato crops are flourishing, promising a potato bumper harvest across the fields.
Currently, as potatoes are entering a crucial growth stage, agricultural experts from the township have been dispatched to provide on-site guidance for over 300 mu (20 hectares) of potatoes in the village, helping with scientific fertilization and monitoring and controlling diseases and pests.

With over 100 mu of potatoes showing excellent growth, this year's yield is expected to reach around 300,000 kilograms, with a value exceeding 300,000 yuan ($42,470.24).
In recent years, Maluyan village has prioritized industrial development as a key means to increase villagers' incomes. By introducing agricultural planting experts and adopting a development model combining the village collective, large-scale planters, and average farmers, the village has been able to boost potato cultivation. This approach allows more villagers to work and earn income locally, contributing to rural vitalization.
Moving forward, Xifeng county will closely monitor the growth of crops, dispatch agricultural experts to guide farmers in the fields, and implement scientific measures to prevent and combat various natural disasters and pests, so as to fully ensure food production security in the county.
