Idle farmhouses in Pingshang village, Xifeng county, Guiyang, are witnessing a remarkable transformation, finding new life as vibrant tourist destinations.

Xifeng Tourism Development Co has utilized the national policy for rural homestead reform, turning these once-unused houses into homestays that offer ecological recreation, sightseeing, and more.

The village has undergone a stunning metamorphosis, with characteristic homestays mushrooming and attracting visitors from far and wide. The initiative has enriched rural tourism and opened new channels for increasing local farmers' incomes.

"Our homestays are bustling on weekends, with rooms booked almost to capacity," says Liao Hong, head of Nanshan Beishui · Youjian Nanshan homestays. "To cater to diverse needs, we have a range of activities, including courtyard concerts, stargazing events, and even egg-picking and farming contests."
