Strawberries pave the way to prosperity in Xifeng's village

In April, the strawberry fields of Tiantai village in Wenquan town, Xifeng county, are teeming with life. Plump and vibrant red strawberries peek out amidst lush green leaves as farmers busily pick the fruits. Each crimson berry is paving a prosperous path for the local people.

Operated by Xifeng Tiantai Agricultural Development Co, the strawberry fields in Tiantai village have become a key industry for collective economic development. Since February, the strawberry fields have generated over 40,000 yuan ($5,531.07) in income, with harvesting expected to continue into early May.

The strawberry fields in Tiantai village not only satisfy visitors' taste buds but also provide locals with jobs. "I now work for the company, picking and selling strawberries every day. I'm making over 2,000 yuan in income," said a villager named Wu Houhui. This allows residents to earn a decent income without leaving their hometown.

In recent years, Tiantai village has been capitalizing on its strengths, cultivating unique crops like snakegourd, strawberries and sorghum on over 500 mu (33.33 hectares) of land. Furthermore, the village has revitalized idle farmhouses by investing in enterprises, ensuring dividends and strengthening the foundation for rural vitalization and development.
