Guiyang railway stations transport record-high passengers during holiday

During the just-concluded Qingming Festival holiday, three Guiyang railway stations – Guiyangbei Railway Station, Guiyangdong Railway Station and Guiyang Railway Station – transported 683,000 passengers on April 3-7, an increase of 4 percent compared to 2019 statistics.

Among the three stations, Guiyangbei Railway Station transported the most passengers, seeing a passenger throughput of 468,000. The peak passenger flow across all three stations occurred on April 4, with a total of 188,000 departing passengers, marking the highest daily volume during the Qingming Festival holiday in recent years.

To meet the travel needs of passengers, Guiyang railway section strengthened the application of big data analysis on the 12306 platform, formulated train operational plans every day, initiated large-scale passenger flow contingency plans, and took measures such as operating additional high-speed trains to increase capacity.

In addition, the three railway stations bolstered services by helping key passengers board trains, maintaining facilities and equipment such as air conditioners and elevators, and deploying additional personnel in key areas such as overpasses, tunnels, and platforms to ensure passenger safety.
