Project to produce high-blood-pressure drug set in Xifeng

The management committee of the Xifeng economic development zone, Nanping Runyang Industry Co, and Guiyang Heyi Investment Co signed an investment agreement on Feb 29 in Xifeng county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, for a project to produce 200 metric tons of Captopril, a high-blood-pressure drug, annually.

According to the investment agreement, Nanping Runyang Industry Co plans to invest a total of 120 million yuan ($16.5 million) in the construction of the 200-ton Captopril project in the first phase of the Guiyang Health Pharmaceutical (Chemical Medicine) Industrial Park, which is currently under construction in Xifeng.

The project is expected to generate an annual output value of 120 million yuan, contribute 4 million yuan in taxes, and employ 30 individuals.
