In 2023, Xifeng county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, made significant strides in advancing the "Healthy Xifeng" initiative, leading to notable improvements in the health levels of the local population.

Through innovative exploration, the county deepened healthcare system reforms and actively promoted the development of a closely integrated county-level medical community.

By deploying 487 experts to provide consultations and guidance at various medical facilities, establishing a standard traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinic and a specialized clinical department in each town, the tiered diagnosis and treatment system operated smoothly.

The county's health bureau recently secured 5 million yuan ($689,569.96) from the Guizhou Provincial Health Commission to build a secondary medical center in the county's Jiuzhuang town.

The county also established 11 TCM clinics in town health centers and three in village clinics, with 73.45 percent of village clinics offering TCM services above national and provincial averages, enhancing access to quality primary medical and public health services for local residents.

In addition, the first publicly-run inclusive childcare facility, the Xifeng Maternal and Child Health Hospital's childcare center, opened, and five smart healthcare emergency stations were completed, enhancing the pre-hospital emergency care system.

In 2024, Xifeng will continuously work to meet the healthcare needs of its residents, driving forward the high-quality development of health services.
