In 2023, Xifeng county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, made significant strides in boosting farmers' incomes through various channels, with the per capita disposable income of rural residents reaching 21,853 yuan ($3,004.85), marking an 8.2-percent year-on-year increase and ranking first in the city.

The county focused on initiatives like agricultural training, which saw 3,058 rural laborers receive training. It also helped 8,046 workers find jobs through recruitment platforms, achieving an organized labor output rate of 77.25 percent.
Efforts were also directed towards agricultural production, with 195,900 mu (13,060 hectares) of grain crops yielding 62,500 metric tons. The county also fostered eco-friendly poultry, fishery, and fruit industries, with 2,300 mu dedicated to eco-fishery and a cumulative fish production of 2,139.62 tons.
Throughout the year, Xifeng's agricultural processing industry reached a total output value of 10.8 billion yuan, and the county secured certifications for two green food products.
The county also facilitated rural resource market flow, finalizing 840 transactions through the rural property rights operation center, totaling 126.01 million yuan. Collective village participation in land reform generated profits of 14.97 million yuan, benefiting farmer shareholders to the tune of 554,700 yuan.
Furthermore, the county raised subsidies for disabled individuals, low-income farmers, and basic pensions for urban and rural residents.
