Xifeng achieves fruitful results in tourism industrialization in 2023

In 2023, Xifeng county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, prioritized tourism industrialization as a crucial element in the advancement of high-quality economic development.

Utilizing its rich red culture and numerous hot springs, the county managed to increase the efficiency and quality of it tourism industry.

The county successfully established one 4A-level tourist attraction, two 3A-level tourist spots, one premium hot spring resort at the gold tier, and another at the silver tier. Additionally, it identified three provincial-level key rural tourism villages, four municipal-level key rural tourism villages, four boutique summer resorts, one star-rated hotel, and 22 scenic spots or rural tourism destinations.

The county engaged with 145 cultural and tourism enterprises, conducted seven investment promotion events, hosted visits from over 20 tourism companies for inspection, and aimed to foster collaborative partnerships by targeting nine key enterprises.

Last year, it saw the emergence of 240 new tourism market entities, bringing the total to 4,479, including 56 enterprises involved in tourism or related industries above a designated size.

Xifeng has identified a total of 12 hot spring (geothermal) resource sites, ranking fourth in Guizhou. Among these, four hot springs have been developed and operated, attracting over 520,000 visitors annually, generating more than 55 million yuan ($7.8 million) in revenue, and creating jobs for 1,200 individuals.

Throughout the year, Xifeng also organized 35 cultural tourism activities related to flower-viewing, summer retreats, Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day celebrations, and hot springs.
