Science and technology commissioners revamp rural industries

Guizhou and the provincial capital Guiyang each dispatched four science and technology commissioners to Xifeng county this year to provide agricultural technology guidance and services, injecting a healthy dose of innovation into the local agricultural industry to boost its development and help raise farmers' incomes.

They trained 511 people on agricultural technology, promoted seven new technologies and 24 new agricultural varieties, established four integrated demonstration bases for these, and supported 25 enterprises and cooperatives.

They also solved 72 technical problems, and declared 19 science and technology projects and made two intellectual property applications.

Li Zhihui paid a call to Xifeng Jiangshengyuan Ecological Agriculture Co to provide technical guidance and conduct research, in his capacity as a provincial-level science and technology commissioner. He helped enhance the survival rate of bass and increased the company's incomes.

Li also assisted Guizhou Shuizhiyuan New Agriculture Technology Development Co, located in Xiaobao village of Xifeng county.

He submitted a proposal for the 2023 Guizhou Province Local Standard Revision Plan, specifically for the "High-Place Pond Aquaculture Technical Specifications for Triploid Rainbow Trout" project.

Zhai Bing, who manages the company, said the compilation of technical specifications has improved its competitiveness.
