Xifeng selected as red tourism destination

Xifeng county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recognized as a high-quality development revolution-themed study tour and cultural tourism destination as well as a revolution-themed health care and leisure tourism county at the third China Tourism Industry Future Development Summit held on Oct 20 in Beijing.

The summit was jointly organized by the Consumer Daily and the Organizing Committee of the China Consumer Economy Forum.

Xifeng is home to many sites related to revolutionary efforts. It was the only county in Guiyang to be included in the first group of 30 national red tourism boutique routes and 100 classic red tourism scenic spots.

Red tourism refers to tourism revolving around visits to sites related to past revolutionary efforts.

Xifeng is home to two classic national red tourism scenic spots: the Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolution History Memorial Museum and the Xifeng Wujiang Gorge.

The Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolution History Memorial Museum is a national cultural relic protection unit, a national patriotic education base, and a national primary and secondary school student study education base. It has been designated as part of the "Centennial of the Founding of the Party Red Tourism Boutique Route."

Additionally, the county is well-known for its hot springs, and was selected among the top 100 national counties for health care in 2021.
