Company embarks on greener path through innovation

Guizhou Xiyang Group Co, established in 2014 and located in Wenquan town, Xifeng county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is a private enterprise specializing in the production of compound fertilizers, new-type fertilizers, specialized fertilizers, and agricultural planting services.

The company is among the first group of national high-tech enterprises and has ranked among the top 100 private enterprises in Guizhou and the top 500 in China's petrochemical industry for several years.

Throughout its history, Xiyang Group has regarded product innovation as a crucial pillar for achieving sustainable development. It has collaborated with higher education institutions and research organizations such as Nanjing Tech University, Yunnan Agricultural University, Guizhou University, and the Shanghai Institute of Chemical Industry. The company is dedicated to soil acidification remediation, improving fertilizer utilization efficiency, and developing more environmentally-friendly ecological fertilizers.

Its sales network includes over 1,500 counties in more than 20 provinces nationwide, and new-type fertilizers accounted for over 30 percent of the company's total sales.

Zhou Yang, general manager of the company, said that to ensure product quality, the company has updated and transformed the old production equipment in the company's original production process.

It has phased out outdated and resource-intensive production equipment that was harmful to the environment. During the "14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25)" period, the company plans to invest approximately 350 million yuan ($48.72 million) in projects related to tail gas upgrades, water treatment, efficient utilization of phosphogypsum, and safety and environmental protection initiatives, he added.

These actions have also advanced the industrial chain and made the supply chain greener.

Moving forward, the company plans to add two production lines, improving the production efficiency and reducing energy consumption, as well as making the company more environmentally-friendly.
