Sept 23, 2023 marked the sixth Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival. On the day, a series of performances took place in Zhongba village, Xifeng county to celebrate this year's bumper harvest.

Local villagers and over 10 performing groups offered up a wonderful cultural feast featuring aerobics, songs and Lusheng dance. Lusheng is a traditional Miao ethnic musical instrument.

The activity was aimed at providing a deeper understanding of local industries such as kiwifruit, vegetables and honeysuckle planting as well as shedding light on the village's development.

Zhang Xiangyun, a local villager, said that he planted three mu (0.2 hectares) of kiwifruit in 2017. This year, he expected a harvest of 750-1000 kilograms per mu.

Nowadays, Zhongba village is home to a more-than-2,400-mu kiwifruit planting base, a more-than-500-mu honeysuckle planting base, and a more-than-200-mu vegetable planting base dedicated to ensuring a stable food supply. All eight villager groups have participated in kiwifruit planting, and over 100 households are involved in honeysuckle cultivation.

In recent years, Zhongba has been honored with the titles of "Advanced Party Organization in Poverty Alleviation and Development" at the provincial, municipal, and county levels, and in 2022, it was awarded the national title of "Demonstration Village for One Village, One Product."
