Yanglongsi town and Jiuzhuang town of Xifeng county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently acquired high-quality breeding pigs and 36,000 broiler chickens, respectively.

The newly-standardized hog farm, which Xifeng County Fulongsi Aquaculture Co invested 75 million yuan ($10.49 million) in, has a capacity of 3,000 pigs. It is expected to raise 80,000 new piglets per year and achieve an annual operating income of 40 million yuan.

The chicken shed, which cost 3.6 million yuan, covers an area of 8,000 square meters. It is expected that the annual production of 240,000 new broiler chickens will increase farmers' incomes by more than 720,000 yuan in total.
The two projects are expected to greatly promote the development of animal husbandry in Xifeng county and promote the large-scale and development of the breeding industry. The county has set a goal to reach 100,000 pigs and 10.5 million broiler chickens by improving the hog farm and the chicken shed.
