The fifth Xiwang Mountain trail race concluded in mid-March in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, attracting more than 50,000 tourists from Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Shandong and Guizhou provinces, and generating 45 million yuan ($6.55 million) in tourism revenue.
Sightseers not only took in Xifeng's beauty, but also learned about its culture and abundant natural resources.
Taking advantage of major development opportunities, Xifeng has forged a "Cool Guiyang, Red Xifeng" city brand and is strengthening its influence as a tourist destination for revolutionary history, health maintenance, mountains and rural areas.
Experts have proven that hot springs in Xifeng county help treat heart attacks, hypertension, and arteriosclerosis. The Nanshan Tianmu Hot Spring project prioritized by the county has been open to the public since January this year, with three hot spring scenic spots available.
Boasting picturesque scenery, the banks of the Wujiang River extend over 80 kilometers in Xifeng, with Yulong Valley, Lianying Valley, Zimei Peak and Luotuo Peak located along the river. The Amanda Beila Mountain Camping Site was also established there.
The Xifeng Yanglang peppery chicken dish is known across the nation. The county also has other delicacies for diners to explore, such as pickled beef, beer stewed duck, and tofu fish.
