A signing ceremony for the utilization of vacant rural residential land was held in Xifeng county of Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 9. From then on, all vacant rural lands in the county are to be managed online through the "Cuncun" application (a big data platform).
As the only pilot county in Guiyang selected for the new round of national rural residential land mechanism reforms, Xifeng has been ramping up efforts to build itself into a popular destination for revolutionary tourism, mountain tourism, rural tourism and health maintenance.
The "Cuncun" application is Guiyang's first platform that is committed to vacant rural residential land utilization. People can invest in vacant rural residences that they are interested in, issue rental information, check their earnings from running a vacant house business, and place room service orders for renovated rural houses.
The platform will beef up rural vacant residential land information sharing among government bodies, rural households, and companies.
