Since the beginning of this year, Xifeng county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou, has been focusing on improving people's lives through a slew of campaigns in order to consolidate positive results gained from the long-term civilized city construction.
Centering on people's education, employment, cultural pursuits, sports, healthcare, housing, transportation and diet, the county has begun its campaign to create more 15-minute living circles, parking lots and farm produce markets, and accelerate the renovation of shanty towns, old residential areas and alleyways.
A total of 33 waste collection sites (for waste classification) were established in the urban area of the county, the garbage distribution center for which is currently being constructed and will be put into use by the end of this year, serving three living circles and 10 towns. The government has also tried to synergize the governance of drinking water, sewage and black and odorous water bodies.
Xifeng plans to carry out 66 social welfare projects from 2021 to 2023, 39 of which had been completed by the end of November this year.
In addition, according to the results of a public opinion poll, 88.8 percent of people in Xifeng are satisfied with the public infrastructure and services offered, a higher satisfaction rate than anywhere else in Guiyang and Guian New Area.
