Xifeng explores school education

"I like the school very much. This semester, every student is able to select elective courses they like, such as painting, music, national defense education, and art. These courses make study more interesting," said Zhou Chengmei, a junior high student in grade three at the Xifeng Luwo Nine-Year School, which is located in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

According to Li Jianjun, president of the school, the school has created special courses to cultivate students' hobbies and improve their self-learning abilities.

The school was founded at the end of 2013 as the only centralized schooling reform demonstration school in Guiyang. In October 2016, it became a provincial school featuring national defense education.

In recent years, many prominent teachers in Guiyang have been assigned to the school to help it with curriculum setting, teaching faculty training, and teaching reforms. The school has also built teaching and living facilities for students.
