The government of Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has adopted a scientific water diversion approach based on its water supply network to alleviate the recent drought, according to news from the county's water authorities on Aug 24.
Since Aug 19, about 5,300 cubic meters of water has been transferred from places outside the county every day, meeting the drinking needs of more than 37,000 people.
The county has invested 863 million yuan ($125.57 million) to enhance the coordinated development of the water supply system by connecting water plants, pumping stations and other facilities.
