July 4 was the sixth day of the sixth lunar month on the Chinese lunar calendar – a traditional festival for ethnic minorities. A celebration was held that day in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Villagers from the Bouyei and Miao ethnic groups in Shidong town staged traditional dance and instrumental performances and sang folk songs to mark the day.
Shidong town is inhabited by many ethnic groups, with 22.37 percent of its population being ethnic minorities.
