From January to April this year, Xifeng county in Guiyang city – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – posted more than 50 million yuan ($7.5 million) in e-commerce retail sales, according to data released by the county's commerce bureau.

In March, Xifeng was listed among China's rural e-commerce comprehensive demonstration counties. Since 2017, Libei village in the county has been recognized by AliResearch as a Taobao village (a village with at least 50 households operating their own shops on Taobao, the online shopping platform).

To date, Xifeng has established 23 cold storage sites, purchased 16 refrigerator cars, and more than 300 personnel have benefited from e-commerce training activities organized by the county government.

Following the "talent-e-commerce-industry" logic, the county has effectively addressed issues such as the lack of professional e-commerce staff members and online sales channels, as well as high logistics costs.

Libei village now boasts eight e-commerce operators, 26 individual e-commerce businesspeople and 150 personnel handling online transactions.
