As a national digital village pilot zone, Xifeng county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has taken full advantage of the new round of opportunities presented in front of it.
The county has taken even faster steps to deploy facilities for its 5G network, artificial intelligence and internet of things, and has strengthened the construction of smart agriculture, transportation, education and healthcare to build a digital rural governance system.
The screen at the county's big data innovative application exhibition center displays real-time information about Xifeng's industries, healthcare, education and more. Decision makers will base their decisions on the precise analysis of these data.
The digital chicken raising platform developed by enterprises and guided by the local government has helped villagers raise productivity in conventional chicken raising work. "If we put feed into the machine, it will be sent automatically to more than 10,000 chickens. And it takes them less than half an hour to finish the meal," said a villager who benefits from the platform.
The chicken farm is now installed with cameras and sensors and will send off alarms if the ammonia concentration, temperature, and moisture of the farm are not within the normal range.
Farmers can monitor the chicken farm using the platform on their mobile phones. It has helped 600 rural households shake off poverty.
