In Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, more parking spaces have been placed along Xinhua and Hebin Roads, with each space numbered. "It used to be hard to park near the hospital, as any available parking spaces were located far from the hospital. Now it's easier to temporarily park along the road," said a local driver.
Xifeng has been committed to its roadside smart parking project, in which a total of 739 parking spaces are planned along 18 roads. The 12 sections of road that contain 472 new parking spaces have already entered the trial operation stage, and the project is scheduled to be completed at the end of June.
Drivers will be charged based on parking time, vehicle size, and parking location. The fee is in effect from 8 am to 9 pm, and drivers can use the spaces for free at other times.
