Rural homes get a welcome revamp

In Wen'an village in Xishan town – administered by Xifeng county, in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – most of the rural buildings there have had a welcome revamp and their exteriors recently had a badly needed paint job.

The initiative came from the county government which ordered the exteriors of the rural buildings to be freshened up as part of a building construction review and the overall village construction plan.

During the revamp, the county's bureau of housing and urban-rural development has assigned the third party to carry out the work, which involved 10 building styles and 45 interior layout designs suitable for different family types.

The collection will reportedly unify the rural building image and improve the buildings' construction quality. Now it has passed the government review and will soon be published.

Last year, Xifeng trained 52 craftsmen for rural building construction, carrying out online and offline training sessions in image renewal, environment improvement, and building functions, and has sorted out the craftsmen list for those having participated in the session from 2018 to 2021.
