Xifeng county boosts training of farmers

Xifeng county – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has undertaken several measures to boost the overall capabilities and knowledge about agricultural operations of its farmers.

Last year, the county implemented its high-quality farmer training program and launched sessions that produced 183 farming and breeding talents, personnel for animal disease prevention and control, as well as rural prosperity leaders.

The county has also recruited five professional agricultural technicians for the production of plums, kiwi fruit and oranges, currently serving more than 30 households.

In addition, a total of 30 top farmers have been selected in the county to do all kinds of experiments and trials to improve the breeds of agricultural products.

The government has also launched more than 20 campaigns to disseminate relevant scientific knowledge to farmers and instruct them on best agricultural practice.
