Xifeng county electrifies buses

Xifeng county in Guiyang, Guizhou province has changed all 24 of its LNG buses into purely electric buses, according to the Guiyang municipal commission of transportation on Nov 5.

The old LNG bus has a length of 8.5 to 9.5 meters with a passenger capacity of 60 people. The new pure electric bus has a length of 6.6 to 8.5 meters and a passenger capacity from 45 to 60 people, making it more flexible than the previous bus.

The LNG bus costs about 280 yuan ($43.9) per day in fuel consumption while the pure electric bus costs only 110 yuan per day. The new buses can also travel up to 150 kilometers per charge and are better for the environment, and they will greatly reduce bus operating costs in addition to environmental pollution.
