Xifeng broadens logistics channel

Zhang Hongyan, a supermarket operator in Xifeng county, Guiyang, is now busy helping villagers receive their express parcels while also taking care of her business.

"The express parcel distribution site used to be in a town 15 kilometers from here, which can partly explain why villagers didn't like online-shopping," said Zhang, "but now things are different. It is quite convenient to send and receive express parcels near where we live. Many people have sold their kiwi fruit online in this way, including me," she added.

The logistics network in Xifeng used to be lacking, and receiving or sending a large parcel would be both time-consuming and costly.

The government has taken advantage of 155 vacant passenger cars in the county, which are assigned to deliver express parcels to villagers. The authorities have created the "sharing concept + smart logisticis + sorting delivery" development model, and have established a logistics system that covers three administrative levels – counties, towns, and villages.
