"Our garment factory is just near my home, and it only takes a few minutes to walk there. I earn 100 yuan ($15) every day now," said Deng Mei, a relocated resident in Tuanyuan community, Xifeng county, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
She was referring to the Guiyang Yuze Clothing Plant, which was introduced by the government to ensure that resettled residents can work near their homes.
Since May 2019, when some residents were relocated to Tuanyuan Community, the government has taken into consideration residents' actual situation and employment needs, and has given them more opportunities to get employed by holding special recruitment fairs, introducing factories, and creating more welfare jobs. The community currently boasts 657 employed relocated residents.
