Xifeng county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently issued a work plan to boost its local new construction material industry. It clarifies the goal that by 2025, the total output value of the industry will reach 10 billion yuan ($1.2 billion), with an average annual growth of at least 63 percent.
With the help of its regional resources and strong transportation infrastructure, Xifeng will revamp its efforts to develop its phosphogypsum construction material and prefabricated building spare parts sectors, accelerate the transformation of the traditional construction material industry, enhance enterprises' innovation capabilities, and promote the integrated development of the new construction materials and building industries.
The government will encourage corporate restructuring by making investments, holding shares, and acquisitions in order to achieve the scale effect.
Meanwhile, scientific schemes on annual investment campaigns and activities will be formulated, such as plans targeting central enterprises, Guangdong-based enterprises, and firms in the middle and eastern parts of China.
The county will further popularize the application of phosphogypsum construction materials in civil engineering and construction projects, transportation projects, government subsidized housing projects, and resident relocation programs.
