In order to raise people's sense of "gain, well-being and security" in Xifeng county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, the government has launched a campaign that advocates officials solving people's real and practical problems in various ways.
By the end of April this year, officials from government bodies - including the county's courts, procuratorates, police stations and bureau of justice - had paid visits to more than 5,000 households in 178 villages and to 500 local enterprises and schools. They collected their problems, which totaled 409, and have already solved 386 of them.
For example, a live broadcasting platform for hearings was officially launched by Xifeng's procuratorate in March, making the county the first in Guiyang, and the second in Guizhou province, to conduct basic-level hearings via livestreaming. The move was designed to assist medium- and micro-sized firms in overcoming their obstacles.
In addition, policemen over the county have taken turns to be on duty during weekends for emergencies. The effective coordination among police stations has reduced the number of cyber fraud cases by 12 percent from last year.
