The first phase of a stone processing plant project, developed by Xifeng Minhui Building Materials Co, started operation in Xifeng county in Southwest China's Guizhou province on April 18, with the aim of boosting the development of the county's new building materials industry, according to local media reports.
The total cost of the stone processing plant is about 32 million yuan ($4.91 million), and the investment in the first phase of the project is about 23 million yuan.
The production raw materials for this factory are all taken from Xifeng's existing limestone mines. The products will include stone for municipal construction, architectural decoration, real estate development, transportation facilities and gardens.
As of the end of 2020, Xifeng county had 22 new building materials companies with a total output value of some 800 million yuan.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Xifeng plans to further promote the modern industrial industry and new building material industry, and boost their industrial output to reach 10 billion yuan annually.
This year, the county will continue to optimize its business environment, scientifically plan industrial development goals, and attract investment around seven major industries: consumer goods, specialty foods, new medicines, new building materials, equipment manufacturing, phosphorus fine chemicals, and energy conservation and environmental protection.
It is expected to complete the construction of 60,000 square meters of standard factory buildings, prepare 100 projects, add 8.8 billion yuan of funds in place for new key industries, and cultivate more than 10 industrial enterprises above a designated scale.
