A group of Party leaders led by Sun Dengfeng, director of the standing committee of the Guiyang municipal people's congress, visited the site of the Xifeng Concentration Camp in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 30.

The visit was an effort to strengthen the study of the Party's history among Party leaders.

Speaking at the site, Sun said that Party in the new era are supposed to inherit "red genes", absorb power from the Party's heroes and be ready to shoulder new responsibilities. He also highlighted the role of the Party's history in enlightening the mind and guiding daily behaviors.

The group participated in mini-lectures on the Party's history and extended their respect to the noble souls of the Party heroes and democratic patriots.

The Xifeng Concentration Camp was the site where more than 1,200 Party and democratic patriots, such as Yang Hucheng, Ma Yinchu and Xu Xiaoxuan, were imprisoned by the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics of Kuomintang.

Sun said that those who sacrificed themselves for national liberation during that bloody period should not be forgotten. Their absolute loyalty, firm beliefs and fighting spirit will inspire the Party members to carry on their glorious journey.
