Xifeng county -- located in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently moved to boost construction of its infrastructure to make things easier for its residents, according to local officials.
They said the county is also actively lobbying to attract investment and is striving to secure national project funds.
Xifeng has invested 40.36 million yuan ($ 6.18 million) in the planned construction of the Yanglang Wetland Park project, which covers an area of 73,580 square meters.
It has also invested 49.8 million yuan in the planned establishment of Shuiling park, which will cover 82,292 sq m.
Meanwhile, the county has invested more than 15 million yuan to renovate, repair and maintain its main and secondary roads, sidewalks and municipal facilities.
Officials said it is continuing to improve service facilities in the old city. To date, the county has completed the painting of streetlamp poles, road isolation barriers and transportation facilities and comprehensively renovated 104 old communities.
In addition, Xifeng county has added 247 parking spaces on secondary main roads and added 86 parking spaces by delineating parking lines in idle plots in residential courtyards, state-owned vacant land and narrow back streets. At present, the county has more than 9,000 parking spaces.
The county has also invested more than 2.6 million yuan to install cameras to monitor traffic violations on its main roads.
Officials said this has effectively curbed the phenomenon of bad parking and gradually solved the problem of parking difficulties in the urban areas.
