A household waste collection and transfer project, which has an investment of 90.8 million yuan ($13.9 million), will start its trial operation soon in Xifeng county of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, according to local officials on Dec 17.
The project that started construction last October includes 10 waste transfer stations, one for each town, 1,273 outdoor waste collection stations, 5,092 240-liter dustbins for villages of the county, 20 12-cubic meter compressed containers, 10 transport trucks, household waste collection stations, as well as a smart service platform.
To ensure the proper implementation of the project, the county has sought to bolster the project's capital investment. In addition to the government's financial support, the county also reached a cooperation agreement with Qiao Yin Environmental Protection Technology Co in April 2019, solving the capital problem of the project.
Additionally, the county made a count-down schedule of the project to clarify the jobs and responsibilities of each phase, as well as to improve work efficiency.
