Xifeng boosts training, development of teachers

Xifeng county -- located in in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has rolled out a series of measures designed to boost the training and development of its teachers, according to local media reports.

The county organized for more than 800 Party members to participate in an education meeting with the theme of "remaining the original aspiration and keeping in mind the mission firmly", and carried out red-themed education activities.

More than 2,000 teachers participated in writing about their learning experience.

Meanwhile, Xifeng county is focusing on education and scientific research to enhance the development of its teachers.

Officials said the county has organized for the application of the Guiyang 2020 education and scientific research planning project, established five projects and pushed ahead with one special project for provincial-level teachers and rural educators, which was approved.

Officials said the county also carried out mid-term testing and final pre-testing of five subjects above the city level and promoted and recognized seven outstanding rural teachers and two provincial backbone teachers in the fifth session of Guizhou province.

They said that in addition, the county has improved its teacher training system, boosted educational and teaching standards and promoted the concept of lifelong teacher learning.
