Xifeng county, in Southwest China's Guizhou province, has carried out a series of measures to stabilize employment and ensure people's livelihoods, according to local officials.
The county has developed uninterrupted online and offline services to provide timely policy consultation and business handling services for enterprises and labor forces, providing more than 500 jobs for people in need of employment. Meanwhile, it has conscientiously implemented an unemployment insurance claim policy and vigorously promoted the online application method for unemployment insurance. Currently, 14 people have received unemployment insurance benefits totaling 159,200 yuan ($2,333.45) online.
Xifeng has also held targeted training courses for all workers in rural areas, especially for poor people and people who have had difficulty in finding jobs. At present, a total of six training courses for 243 people have been carried out, including excavators and network entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, the county has strengthened publicity for its vocational skills promotion training policies, and guided enterprises to carry out vocational skills training to improve the skills of their employees. At present, a total of 14 enterprises have conducted online training for 3,448 people.
In addition, the county has actively implemented various enterprise support policies to stimulate employment vitality.
Since the beginning of this year, the county has helped 31 start-up entities apply for 4.65 million yuan in start-up secured loans, which has created 98 jobs. The county has also helped 120 households apply for self-employment and rent subsidies of 1.28 million yuan, and helped 76 people apply for entrepreneurship subsidies plus a one-time job search and entrepreneurship subsidy of 510,000 yuan.
Moreover, Xifeng has developed public welfare job positions focusing on rural revitalization, road maintenance and forest protection. To date, 191 people with employment difficulties have been employed in public welfare positions.
The county has introduced seven new projects which are expected to provide 120 jobs after completion, officials added.
