Xifeng strives to increase employment, promote entrepreneurship

Yongyang sub-district in Xifeng county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has rolled out a series of measures to promote employment and entrepreneurship in its jurisdiction, according to local officials.

The sub-district has established and improved task assignment procedures and target assessment for advancing employment and entrepreneurship. At present, 273 new employers have been added to the annual target assessment, with more than 1,600 people gaining jobs and 155 people receiving vocational skills training.

The sub-district also regularly organizes home visits to the unemployed, people with employment difficulties and college graduates to gather pertinent information and clarify the critical employment assistance targets. Up to now, 355 unemployed people and 90 people with employment difficulties have found work, while 14 college students have started businesses and 219 have obtained employment and entrepreneurship certificates.

Meanwhile, Yongyang has published more than 70 employment tips through WeChat, Weibo and QQ, carried out publicity three times and issued more than 500 documents. It has established contacts with more than 10 employers, such as Yelaoda Spicy Chicken and Hanfang Medicine Factory, and regularly collects employment information.

As of now, more than 50 people's recruitment information has been collected, 58 people have registered for employment, 12 people have reached employment intentions and more than 80 public welfare positions have been developed for people with employment difficulties.

Also, a one-stop service counter provides services including policy consultation, employment and unemployment registration, job registration and employment skills training. At present, Yongyang has completed the preliminary examination of start-up subsidy materials for 23 households, rental subsidy materials for 172 households and application materials for start-up guarantee loans for 70 households.
