Xifeng county develops agriculture, tourism integration

The Beautiful Nanshan Pastoral Complex is located in Li'an and Pingshang village in Xifeng county, in Southwest China's Guizhou province. It has excellent access to roads, being 50 kilometers away from Guiyang city and 14 kilometers away from Xifeng county and is adjacent to the Xifeng South toll station of the Lanhai Expressway and the Xifeng high-speed railway station.

The scenic spot has a forest coverage rate of more than 70 percent, lies at an altitude of more than 1,200 meters above sea level and has an annual average temperature of 14.8 C. The climate makes it a suitable place for leisure, vacation and for health spas.

With a planned area of 15.9 square kilometers and a core area of more than 3,000 mu, or 200 hectares, the scenic spot shares a splendid chrysanthemum garden, Nanshan station and hot spring health center, among other facilities. In addition, the first farmer's harvest festival in Guizhou province was hosted here.

This year, the scenic spot has further improved its support infrastructure and services, integrated agriculture and tourism and added facilities for food, travel, learning and shopping.

In late July, more than 2,000 mu of chrysanthemums planted in the scenic area will bloom, including more than 20 species of edible chrysanthemums, medicinal chrysanthemums and ornamental chrysanthemums.

Meanwhile, there are plans to build an urban vegetable garden. By using 700 mu of idle land, 20,000 small vegetable gardens have been planned.

Residents can plant cabbage, green peppers, eggplants and other organic pollution-free vegetables here to experience the pleasures of gardening. The project has started and is expected to be officially launched at the end of August this year.
