Xifeng county in Southwest China's Guizhou province has issued a series of measures to boost the protection and utilization of cultural relics and sites, according to local officials.
In order to strengthen safety of its cultural heritage, Xifeng has increased daily inspections and maintenance. In the first half of 2020, the county carried out routine maintenance inspections for the protection of 17 cultural relics.
The county has also beefed up its security inspections of cultural relics during important periods. Over the past six months, a total of 15 safety inspections have been carried out and three safety hazards were identified and resolved.
Officials said that Xifeng is also making sure that everybody knows about cultural heritage protection laws during cultural festivals including International Museum Day, Cultural and Natural Heritage Day.
More than 300 copies of publicity brochures and other materials have been distributed -- to increase the public's awareness of cultural heritage laws and regulations, as well as the need to protect cultural heritage sites.
