Xifeng county improves quality of life for residents

Yangsilong town in Xifeng county -- in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has undertaken a series of measures on the sanitation front, to improve the quality of life for its residents, according to local officials.

Yansilong has implemented 24-hour cleaning systems and installed garbage collection bins were placed in the town, as well as in other market towns and villages in the area.

A total of 431 garbage collection bins were put up in the town and its service center collects and treats 7 tons of garbage every day.

Meanwhile, the town uses big data to implement location monitoring of its refuse bins and garbage vehicles, to effectively control the collection and transportation of waste in a timely manner.

Officials said the town also supervises the accumulation and dumping of garbage and it has carried out centralized sanitation and cleanups of the main traffic arteries. This has removed 632 individual buildups of sludge from drainage ditches, cleared away 2,100 tons of plastics garbage and removed 1,322 advertising posters and stickers.

Additionally, the town has started construction of garbage transfer station. At present, the project site selection, boundary surveys and main construction has been completed.
